Olympian Christine Traurig

Christine Traurig, who was born and raised in Hanover, Germany, is the mother of a son and a daughter and assisted American husband Bernie Traurig, in the training of international show jumpers for nearly 15 years. Traurig made her return to dressage competition in 1997 after a four-year absence from the sport. She turned in a solid performance at the 1997 Bayer /USET Festival of Champions, finishing eighth overall in the USET Grand Prix Championship presented by Rio Suite Hotel & Casino. She also rode Assini Bon to a fifth place finish in the Grand Prix Special. Christine Traurig was the final rider in the 2002 Sydney Olympic team dressage competition, rode Etienne, a 12-year-old, Westphalian gelding owned by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Haas, to his best score ever and gave the U.S. Equestrian Team (USET) its third consecutive Olympic team Bronze Medal.

Olympian Lisa Wilcox

Lisa Wilcox spent twelve years training and competing in Europe. She was the head trainer of the Gestut Vorwerk where she campaigned many top horses such as Revelant, Royal Diamond, Rohdiamant, and Friedensfurest to Grand Prix level in International shows in Europe. Lisa Wilcox’s career highlights include team bronze medal, 2004 Olympics; individual silver medal, 2003 European Championships; team silver medal, 2002 World Equestrian Games. In 2001, Lisa became the first non-European rider to enter the top ten of the FEI World Dressage Rider Rankings and in 2002, was ranked second. Her philosophy emphasizes the correct use of the seat to allow the horse to develop freedom and expression in its gaits. Lisa Wilcox is a very popular clinician worldwide.

  • Trainer and Examiner for USEF Dressage Judges
  • Chaired the USDF Training Pyramid committee (redesigned the Scale of Training last year)
  • Produced the USDF Video "Training Your Sport Horse in Hand"

Olympian Debbie McDonald

Debbie McDonald is a US dressage rider who has become an international super-star in her sport. From Hailey, Idaho, Ms. McDonald has won individual and TEAM Gold Medals in the 1999 Pan Am Games, become the only US rider ever to hold the Dressage World Cup Champion title, and crowned her achievements on her wonderful mount, Brentina, when she won Olympic Bronze in 2004. Brentina was the winner of the Inaugural Farnam®/ Platform™ • USEF Horse of the Year Award (2006). The story of Brentina and Debbie McDonald was made into a documentary, Brentina: From Idaho to Athens.
